Bill Corbet is Managing Director of Blackfin Group’s Strategy Consulting Practice. A 30-year veteran of the mortgage banking and financial services industry, Bill has held numerous executive leadership roles overseeing Capital Markets, Technology Deployment, Product Development and Risk Management. Bill’s executive leadership background spans from community banks and independent mortgage bankers to a Top 15 nationally recognized bank. Bill has leveraged a deep understanding of Mortgage Banking to develop business strategy and translate it into business / customer centric technology solutions; successfully combining the implementation of software with the re-engineering of business processes to deliver enterprise wide technology solutions, regulatory changes, digital tools and risk management models/frameworks. Bill has led multi-year technology projects and been a strong influencer of vendor, investor and GSE offerings to drive solutions toward maximizing the customer experience – while minimizing risk. Additionally, Bill has structured and managed over 3B in servicing flow transactions, developed a correspondent program for Toll Brothers, and led a collaborative effort with the Federal Reserve in Boston to create the Mortgage Relief Fund. Bill has a keen insight on managing risk leading both the introduction and removal of loan products/features based on the competitive landscape as well as the forward-looking risk profile. He has also brought a holistic view of the business to interest rate risk management, producing superior results over a wide variety of market conditions. Bill is committed to helping his clients successfully implement the projects he and his team are engaged. Bill received his Bachelor of Science degree in Economics and Natural Resources at the University of Rhode Island.
